Revamp your bedroom for under $100

When your on a budget but you really want to decorate your bedroom or do something a bit different it can be really difficult to come up with ideas that won’t cost you a lot of money. You want something new and exciting but you are restricted on budget and like most of us strapped for time too. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t revamp your bedroom and create something brilliant without blowing your budget. There are some really great ways to spice things up, and get this, they are super easy.

Paint a feature wall

Feature walls are really on trend in the home improvement world and we can see why. What better way to introduce some colour to your bedroom without over doing it. The best thing of all is that it takes no time at all so you can completely transform your room in a couple of hours. This is an especially practical idea if you are renting your place, as you aren’t committing to time and effort spent on a place that isn’t yours, but it is also easy to paint back to a neutral a colour if you move out. Similarly the amount of paint you would need for one wall is minimal, so thats money saved. If you really love the colour and have left over paint, you can always keep it for the next place you move in to.

Photos/pictures

What better way to personalise and accessorize your boudoir than with some snaps of you and your loved ones. Arrange them in a quirky way on the wall to create a feature for the room, with frames of different shapes positioned at different angles and heights. Photo frames are cheap and easy to get hold of so you will still have money left to print out the pictures if needed. Play with various effects from black and white to comic book looks to make your pictures really unique to you. You will feel happier and more positive with photos that remind you of happy times, special moments and people past and present. You probably have loads of photos lying around that you could use, so why not use these as a starting point.

Cushions and Linens

Make a fresh start with some new bed pillows or bed linen. You can spend as much or as little as you want, and get some great bargains. Experiment with vibrant colours and outlandish patterns if your room decor is neutral or plain and simple colours with texture if your room is brightly decorated. It can be really fun to use interesting textures on your bed, so buy a fluffy or silky bed throw to accentuate your bedroom themes. This is a brilliant way to add some colour to your bedroom and it is really cheap and easy to do.

Lighting

Lighting is always best the way to create mood and atmosphere which can really change the way a room feels. Your bedroom is an intimate place, so you want to make sure the lighting if just right but it doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot of money to achieve it. There are so many lighting ideas that you will be spoilt for choice, meaning you can do something that suits your bedroom style perfectly. Fairy lights make great soft lighting centrepieces that you can place around mirrors, bed frames or even put them inside shallow vase or in an unused fireplace. Alternative highlights to use are good old candles, that are available in all sorts of shapes and sizes and in any colour you choose.
